509 steps? Ummm...no.

Today we had to leave the wonderful little city of Bruges and it was mostly a travel day as we made our way towards Nuremberg. Apparently, the train got lost and we ended up in Antarctica. When we got off the train in Cologne, it was really cold. I mean bone shattering cold. It was cold in Bruges but it must've dropped 20 degrees and picked up some wind as well. It was crazy.

We stopped in Cologne to see the Koln Dom, the biggest cathedral in Germany and the 4th tallest in the world.

The original plan was to climb the 509 steps to the top but with the wind chill being about -20 we decided against it. Luckily for us, there was a Christmas market next door so we got to attend our first German Christmas market.

I even had my first German pretzel. It was delicious. After Cologne we took a really nice, really fast train straight to Nuremberg.

We are now having dinner in the Burger King as it was the only thing left open and was also the only free Wifi spot I could access.

Tomorrow should include Germany's best Christmas market so we should have some good pictures.
